

Hancock Co., Miss. Apr. 11, 2022 – The Hancock Community Development Foundation, in partnership with Mississippi Power and the Hancock Chamber of Commerce, is now offering small business grants to women- and minority-owned businesses. 15 grants in the amount of $2,000 will be available, thanks a generous donation from Mississippi Power.
“More than 80% of the Hancock Chamber’s membership is made up of small businesses,” said Tish Williams, Executive Director of the Hancock Chamber of Commerce. “We are so grateful to have the opportunity to offer grants to support them and look forward to seeing how they will be used.”
Applications are now available at the links below and will be judged on how the grants will be used to increase exposure or business capacity and on how they will positively impact Hancock County. Full eligibility requirements can be found in the downloadable application packet.
“The grant program for women- and minority-owned businesses is a prime example of how our Foundation partners with the Chamber to help small business owners,” said Wendy McDonald, President of the Hancock County Community Development Foundation. “We are delighted to be the fiscal managers for this generous donation from Mississippi Power and look forward to seeing how it grows our small business community.”
The deadline to apply is Monday, April 25th, at 5 p.m. Completed applications must be mailed or dropped off at the Hancock Chamber of Commerce at 100 S. Beach Blvd., Ste. A, Bay St. Louis, MS, 39520.
Grant winners will be announced at the Midyear Meeting on Thursday, May 11th at Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast. Registration and networking opens at 11 a.m. with the buffet starting at 11:30 a.m. and the program will last from 12 – 1 p.m. Advance registration for the Midyear Meeting is required.
