CASH DONATIONS MADE THROUGH HANCOCK COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION TO BE MATCHED UP TO $1,000
Hancock Co., Miss. Jan. 7, 2022 – The angelic volunteers of Hancock County are at it again, bringing care packages to frontline healthcare workers across the coast. The effort restarted this week with Wendy McDonald, Yuki Northington, Nikki Moon, Karen West, Kay Kell, Noel Allen, Bernie Cullen and Elise Deano coming together and anticipating the need to keep healthcare workers’ spirits lifted as they battle the Omicron variant.
“We want to show our healthcare workers how much they’re appreciated,” said co-organizer Wendy McDonald. “Our hope is to fill the care packages with items that will make their day easier and maybe something they can enjoy outside of work. We’re encouraging cash donations through the Hancock County Community Development Foundation so we can have an even bigger impact across the Coast.”
To kick start the effort, the Hancock County Community Development Foundation has committed to match every dollar donated at 100% up to $1,000. Donations made through the Foundation can be made online at https://hancockchamber.org/foundation. Checks should be made out to the Hancock County Community Development Foundation and sent to the Hancock Chamber at 100 S. Beach Blvd. Ste. A in Bay St. Louis.
Those who would like to donated items can drop them off at the Hancock Chamber of Commerce or Bay Town Inn. Bottled water, sealed healthy snacks, bottled tea or coffee, gift cards, pens, post-its, hand sanitizer, lotion and sun screen are some of the items that are requested.
