Bay St. Louis, Miss. Feb. 8, 2022 – The Bay St Louis City Council voted unanimously tonight in favor of contracting with the Hancock Chamber of Commerce to manage the Historic City Hall. The second floor will be utilized as headquarters for the Chamber Office. The City and Chamber will work together to turn the first floor into a resource for the community for public events and meetings.
“The second floor of the 1905
City Hall is the perfect space to house the Hancock Chamber offices,” said Regan Kane, Owner/Broker at John McDonald Realty and 2022 Chamber Board President. “The new space will bring forth many new and exciting opportunities to expand programming for the City and the Chamber, and will expand both organizations’ support for the business community.”
The Hancock Chamber is currently located on the 2nd floor of the Hancock Whitney Bank on the corner of Beach Blvd. and Main St. in Bay St. Louis. The need to relocate came about in 2021, when the bank returned the Beach Blvd. Branch to full service. The bank generously donated the space to the Hancock Chamber for eight years. The bank is continuing to support the Chamber by maintaining their Titanium Sponsorship and giving the Chamber use of the current location until renovations on the 1905 City Hall are complete. Renovation of the historic landmark is expected to wrap up in April.
