“On March 1st (Thursday) you can make one small donation to help 23 different causes in our community,” said Leslie Henderson, chairman of the Hancock Community Development Foundation.
Henderson said the entire community is invited to join with her and members of the Dave Mayley Band to celebrate the work of these passionate volunteers that are helping our community grow.
The event is being sponsored by Cuz and Christy Barnes, and is touted as Cuz’s for the Cause from 6-9pm at the popular restaurant. Tickets are only $25 per person and includes tunes from the Mayley Band and an enticing fare of seafood gumbo and bisque, jambalaya and potato salad.
Proceeds raised benefit the Hancock Community Development Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charity founded by the Chamber of Commerce more than a decade ago. The Foundation acts as an umbrella organization, incubating and supporting community causes that range from the arts to education, historic preservation to beautification, greenways and byways, youth and safety programs, park improvements and small business and leadership initiatives.

“Help us reach our goal to sell out the event,” said Henderson. “If we all give a little, we will certainly get a lot more for our community.”
