HANCOCK CHAMBER MIDYEAR MEETING OFFERS A BIRDSEYE VIEW OF ALL HANCOCK COUNTY HAPPENINGS
The Hancock Chamber invites you to attend its Midyear Meeting, which is set for Thursday, May 16th at Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast. This annual event serves as a panoramic update, offering insights into the dynamic landscape of Hancock County.
The Midyear Meeting is one of the area’s most highly anticipated events, featuring not only a substantial learning experience but also a delightful atmosphere. It is held over an elegant champagne brunch with live music by Holly’s Dad’s Jazz Band. Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast provides a gorgeous buffet with local brunch favorites including shrimp remoulade, chicken and waffles, and the Hollywood’s famous savory breakfast casserole made with ham, eggs and cheese.
Expect to be captivated for approximately an hour as the program unfolds, revealing the breadth and depth of endeavors within Hancock County. The Hancock County Board of Supervisors and Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission will outline their flagship projects and investments.
Moreover, the Chamber/Foundation program will spotlight:
- Small Business Development: Explore the burgeoning small business ecosystem with insights into new openings and celebratory ribbon cuttings.
- Commitment in Action: Delve into the impactful initiatives spearheaded by the Chamber’s committees, driving forward its mission and projects.
- Celebrating Milestones: Reflect on the year’s major events, including the highly successful Inaugural Stennis Day in the Bay, with an exclusive announcement set to pique interest.
We will announce the recipients of the Hancock Chamber’s Small Business Grants. Funded by the Mississippi Power Foundation and managed through the Hancock County Community Development Foundation, the 2024 grant program will award 15 grants of $5,000 each to businesses serving Hancock County.
The program will culminate in the presentation of the Jody Compretta Person of Passion Award. Bestowed annually, this accolade honors individuals who exemplify unwavering commitment to the Chamber’s mission, showcasing remarkable dedication to the organization’s success. It is the Hancock Chamber’s highest award.
In addition to the Jody Compretta Person of Passion Award, the Hancock Chamber and the Library Foundation will recognize Mary M. Perkins for her outstanding service to the community. Perkins is the former Public Relations Director for the Hancock County Library System and has held many leadership positions in the community over the years, having held the position as the longest serving member on the Hancock Chamber Board of Directors and her dedicated service to the Hancock Chamber Education Committee.
