The Hancock Chamber of Commerce’s Education Committee is offering an exciting opportunity for teachers in Hancock County schools to apply for “Make A Difference Classroom Grants” for the 2024-2025 school year. These grants, designed to support innovative projects and address classroom needs, are available for teachers in grades Pre-K through 12, with a maximum grant amount of $500.

Applications for the grants are open now, and teachers have until Friday, November 1st at midnight to submit their proposals. Each teacher is limited to one grant submission. Home school groups or clubs with 25 or more students are also eligible to apply.

To ensure a smooth submission process, teachers are encouraged to gather all required information before starting the application. The online form cannot be saved and resumed later, so it is recommended that applicants prepare their responses in a word processing document and then copy and paste into the final submission.

These grants have supported a variety of impactful projects in past years, including Welding Technology, Teach Town Social Skills, Zen Outreach, and Marine Science. The program seeks to fund innovative ideas that make a difference in students’ educational experiences.

Grant recipients will be announced during the 15th Annual Teacher Appreciation Dinner, scheduled for Thursday, November 21st, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Bay St. Louis Community Hall. Teachers and administrators are invited to attend the event, enjoy a dinner prepared by local volunteers, and participate in giveaways and prize drawings sponsored by area businesses and community organizations.
