Hancock County, Miss. June 5, 2023 — The Hancock Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that applications for the esteemed Leadership Hancock program are now open. This comprehensive leadership development initiative presents an unparalleled opportunity for individuals to enhance their skills, broaden their networks, and make a lasting impact on the community. Chaired by Coast Electric’s Janel Nolan, Leadership Hancock is designed to cultivate and nurture the leadership potential of individuals across diverse industries and backgrounds. The program offers a unique blend of experiential learning, personal growth, and community engagement, empowering participants to become influential agents of positive change. With an impressive track record of success, Leadership Hancock has been transforming aspiring leaders since its inception in 1996. It is led by a team of volunteers from previous classes, who strive to continuously improve each session, ensuring that participants are learning material that is relevant, practical and timely.
Successful applicants will embark on an enriching journey that spans several months, featuring a range of immersive experiences and engaging learning opportunities. The program kicks off with a half-day orientation in September, where participants will gain valuable insights into the program structure, expectations, and outcomes. This orientation lays the foundation for the subsequent activities that follow.
The highlight of the Leadership Hancock program is the much-anticipated overnight retreat at the picturesque Camp Beckwith in Point Clear, Alabama, scheduled for October. Surrounded by nature’s beauty, participants will engage in team-building exercises, strategic thinking sessions, and thought-provoking discussions, forging strong bonds with fellow leaders and gaining invaluable perspectives.
Following the retreat, classes will be conducted once a month, spanning a full day, from November through May. Expert speakers, industry leaders, and community influencers will impart their wisdom, providing a comprehensive understanding of various sectors and fostering the development of well-rounded leaders. Each session will delve into critical topics such as leadership styles, communication skills, community engagement, and the economic landscape.
To ensure accessibility, the tuition fee for the Leadership Hancock program is set at an affordable $595. Partial scholarships are available for individuals who demonstrate financial need. The Hancock Chamber of Commerce firmly believes in inclusivity and strives to provide equal opportunities for all emerging leaders to participate in this transformative program.
