Hancock Co., Miss. July 23, 2019 – Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission, is honored to announce South Coast Electric Division of Beier Integrated Systems as the 2019 recipient of the Industrial Award of Excellence. Accepting the award on behalf of the company is Ralph Lindfors, Vice President and General Manager. They will be recognized along with the Top 10 Outstanding Citizens and Community Award of Excellence recipient at the Hancock Chamber’s Annual Gala. Tickets are still available for purchase through hancockchamber.org or in person at the Chamber offices. Individual tickets are $80 and table sponsorships start at $1,200.
“We’re so thankful and humbled to be recognized for our role in the community,” said Lindfors. “We are deeply committed to the community and to keeping these highly specialized technical positions right here in Hancock County.”
Established in 2003, South Coast Electric builds high quality, electrical switchgear products which outfit marine vessels of all sizes with electrical and communications systems. Their technology plays a pivotal role for soldiers the world over, keeping our deployed military safe and enhancing our national security at home. Beier Integrated Systems of Mandeville, Louisiana acquired South Coast Electric in 2016 in a move that would not only round out their product offerings and streamline their processes, but keep 16 highly technical and specialized jobs in Hancock County.
“We’ve provided stable employment for the community for a number of years,” Lindfors added. “Most of our employees have been with us since the beginning and live as close as Lower Bay Road. We’re proud that we are able retain these workers here in Hancock County, versus having them leave the market to use their skill set. I’m also grateful to them for their contributions – they’re really the ones who made this award possible.”
Janel Carothers, Chief Development Officer at the Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission, says the Port & Harbor Commission is proud to present this award to South Coast Electric.
“This is a well-deserved honor,” Carothers said. “The Port & Harbor Commission chose South Coast Electric Division as this year’s recipient to show our thanks for being model tenants of Port Bienville for over 16 years.”
