The anonymous donation in the amount of $23,010.76 was made to support the City of Bay St. Louis’ joint efforts with Hancock County to make improvements to the 7th Street Park, which includes upgrades to the equipment and seating to ensure they are ADA compliant.
The Hancock Community Development Foundation acts as an umbrella organization to support projects like the 7th Street Park Improvements Project and grants support to more than 20 other community causes in Hancock County, such as Brenda’s House, Excel by Five, Friends of McLeod Mark, the Ground Zero Museum, Beautification and Education efforts, signage programs, Leadership programs and more.
Anyone wishing to make a donation to support other parks and projects in Bay St. Louis or throughout Hancock County is welcome to contact the Hancock Chamber, which provides the staffing for the Foundation or to contact a member of the Foundation Board. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law and are a great resource to help support projects we all care about.
The Hancock Chamber established the Hancock County Community Development Foundation as a 501 (c) 3 public charity in May 2006 to act as an umbrella organization for 20 non-profit causes for projects with a broad community focus. The specific purposes of incorporation are to sponsor and support educational and community programs that stimulate job creation, foster small business growth, workforce development, historic preservation and the arts.
