Hancock Co., Miss. Sept. 24, 2020 – The 17th Annual Swing for the Cause Golf Tournament will tee off on Thursday, Oct. 27th at noon at The Bridges Golf Course at Hollywood Casino. This is the premiere fundraiser for the Hancock County Community Development Foundation. Known locally simply as “The Foundation,” this organization was established in May of 2006 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to act as an umbrella organization for 20 non-profit causes for projects with a broad community focus.
“Supporting Swing for the Cause makes an impact on over 20 local community service efforts,” said Angie Kothmann, President of the Hancock County Community Development Foundation. “A single registration not only provides a full day of fun at The Bridges – it also gives back to Hancock County in a significant way. It’s a win-win for everyone involved!”
Since its inception, the Foundation has been a conduit to receive over $7 million in grants and donations to sponsor and support educational and community programs that stimulate job creation, foster small business growth and support workforce development. It not only helps small businesses, but also supports citizens with a passion for community causes like education, public parks, beautification and programs that nurture youth and leadership in the community.
Registration for golfers and sponsors are now open. Golfers may register for $125 per person or $500 for a team of 4, which includes greens fees, 18 holes, cart, cocktails, lunch and the awards reception. Sponsorships start at $300 for a hole sponsorship. Online registration is available at http://hancockchamber.org through the community calendar or you can contact Jessica Bilotta, Membership Services Manager at the Hancock Chamber of Commerce at 228-467-9048 or email@example.com.
